A hospice for Tempe, Arizona

Abstract

Through the use of figuratism I will define the iconic and typological elements that should be present within a hospice. Through this research, development, and design, I will explore what role architecture can play in an environment in which the physical qualities can almost not help but become subordinate to the emotional, intellectual and spiritual quialities present within it. I also hope to discover/uncover what iconic elements and typologies should be inherent of the subsequent culture and environment to which it becomes an integral part of, and what figurative qualities should transcend those regional restraints and can and should be present for this facility anywhere.
