Abstract

The agricultural youth organization, FFA, has always been considered an integral part of high school agricultural science courses. However, there are many students who enroll in agricultural education courses and do not participate in FFA activities. In 1994-95, 108,299 Texas students enrolled in agricultural education courses while oirly 60,941 of those chose to participate in FFA in 1995-96. The major purpose of this study was to identify factors w^hich prevent agriscience students in Texas from participating in the FFA.
