Abstract
The general problem considered in the study was that of the operation of the. private college under the board-of-control system as commonly practiced in the United States. In particular the study was designed to examine the kind and amount of consensus or lack of consensus in terms of the perceived individual and collective roles that existed among board members and administrators in such colleges.
