Abstract
Architecture is much more than the art and science of creating; it "lives", in the artificial sense. But my focus is not to justify the "life force" of architecture. My focus is in the machinery, the working parts that operate together and create movement. Its in the celebration of technology and its birth to the machine, and its in the interpretation of the machíne to architecture.
A headquarters for a small, privately owned corporation, Polo Ralph Lauren. My choice of the corporation as a project is due to the similarities between the components of a machine and the departments within a corporation. For both the machine and a corporation to properly function, each component or department must work together to function as a whole.
