The Nautilus: A man made sea

Abstract

In the field of architecture, because of the element of personal creativity, it is conceivable to take the elements from one type of industry, and use those elements in a way completely unrelated to their original intent and purpose.

It is on this premise that the proposed facility is based. In the design of this facility it is the intent of the designer to take elements used in nautical design and apply them to a completely unrelated building type. That unrelated building type is the public aquarium. Through the use of nautical elements the designer will create a building that is an interweaving of the organic elements commonly associated with the sea, and the mechanical elements associated with nautical design.
