Description

Launched as a four-masted schooner, Lyman D. Foster was abandoned at sea in 1913. Later salvaged, Lyman D. Foster was sold, put under New Zealand registry, and converted to a four-masted barkentine (as seen in this photograph). The barkentine went missing in the Pacific in 1919.
