Streaming Audio Grant to the Helen Jones Foundation

The goal of this project is to increase access to and preserve the audio recording collection at the Texas Tech University Library through the use of streaming technology. The audio CDs will be converted into files that can be streamed over the internet. The files will then be given cataloging data, stored on a server and offered through a digital asset management system. This will allow the audio files to be accessed by patrons from any computer with an internet connection. The CDs will then be copied to preservation quality compact discs.
