dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we consider the numerical solutions of one-dimensional VlasovPossion equation by a semi-discrete Galerkin method and compare it with the particle method. First of all, we provide two theroems to show two equivalent systems which simplify our numerical experimentations. Then we derive two numerical schemes with numerical results for Landau damping and two-stream instability problems.
