Abstract

THESIS STATEMENT: Behavior and attitudes conductive to teaching and learning will be enhanced and supported architecturally by creating a series of interconnected hierarchical territories, through the use of scale. FACILITY STATEMENT: This proposed facility is a learning center for pre-k through third grade students. The learning center has as its goal to prepare children from the earliest possible for life amongst society. This is done by incorporating activities that promote collaborative work and cross-grade/age cooperation. CONTEXT STATEMENT: This learning center is proposed for a mostly Hispanic community in Lubbock, Texas, a small city in West Texas. ABSTRACT SCOPE OF PROJECT: The learning center is to serve as an impetus for the socio-economic revitalization of the mostly low-income surrounding community. This facility has a capacity of 400 students.
