Abstract

TOPIC OF THESIS: Discovery of play through form to cope and recover. THESIS STATEMENT: A B S T R A C T FACILITY: SCOPE: CONTEXT: The Lubbock Children's Hospital will be discovered using play through Architectural Form.The Architectural Forms in the hospital will engage the patients using PLAY to COPE. The Lubbock Children's Hospital is a 48 bed self sustaining facility with a level 2 emergency trauma center. The Lubbock Children's Hospital will facilitate children from infancy to adolescents of age 17. A wide array of programmatic requirements have been considered for the diverse age groups.The hospital is a 24 hour state of the art hospital that will be able to accomodate a full capacity of 48 beds. The Lubbock Children's Hospital is located within newly and rapidly developing medical district in Northwest Lubbock.The site has immediate access to several major thoroughfares such as Loop 289 and Quaker Ave.The hospital is readily available to the resources of area hosippri tals within 2 miles of the new facility.
