Abstract

Since 2015, parents with transgender children have been in the limelight of the media showing their support for their children. Most of the families or individuals represented are white and middle class. This study takes a look at demographic factors that may have an impact on parental acceptance of their children. The purpose is to provide a data profile of parents that are accepting of their transgender children, so that the demographic groups falling outside of that profile may be targeted by educators of parents with transgender children, or educators of the transgender community.
