Abstract

Young adults are at risk to develop chronic back problems as technology becomes more prevalent in day to day life. Poor posture can lead to increases in back pain and changes in spinal alignment. Young adults are also trying to discover themselves and are at a point to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem. Since poor posture contributes to lower self-esteem and lower energy levels, the need to optimize these are crucial. There is little research on the training programs that have been proven to improve these. This investigation is a randomized control trial examining the effects of the Upright™ training program on posture and self-esteem.
