Pax for tenor voice, baritone voice, bass voice, and full orchestra based on a poem by Rubén Darío

ABSTRACT In the PAX recital aria, the most important aspect of the text is the message of this poem for the audience. It is written in a “through-composed form” because Rubén Darío wrote this poem without any prevalent metric form, and I followed his style that is modern but also classic. “PAX” was written by Rubén Darío (1867-1916) as a call for peace in the world before the First Ward World. Darío’s poetry and writing has rhythm, harmony, and melody influenced by different sources. PAX the musical composition is written for the first sixteen stanzas, or the first fragment, of the poem. The composer uses different approaches of composition to mimic the poetic tone of PAX. This aria is for tenor, baryton-noble, and bass voices, and a full modern orchestration.
