Abstract

Briefly traces the political and social undercurrents which precipitated the 1964 revision of the Texas Family Code. The years of effort spent in drafting and submitting a new Texas Family Code were rewarded in the 1973 session of the Legislature. The entire Family Code was passed, sans novel paternity provisions, and signed into law that same year. The author contends the resulting Texas Family Code is a complete and systematic approach to the legal problems encountered by Texas families.
