Abstract
Discusses the expansion of the long arm statute, which began in New York in the mid-1960s. The author by looking at variety of factors, critiques the Seider Practice which authorizes courts to obtain quasi in rem jurisdiction by attaching property. The author examines the constitutional issue, present status of constitutional limitations upon jurisdiction, the constitutional attacks upon the Seider practice, and the proposed framework for Resolution of the Due Process Issue. In most states, the attachment issue will conflict with adopting the Seider Practice. States must balance many issues before adopting the Seider Practice.
