Abstract

Explores the Supreme Court case, Gregg v. Georgia. In Gregg, the Supreme Court upheld that the death penalty per se does not violate the eighth or fourteenth amendment. The Court also held that the Georgia statutory scheme for the imposition of the death penalty is not unconstitutional. Examines in-depth the Court’s reasoning behind their decision and explores the issues that are left unresolved.
