Abstract

A flexible design and manufacturing process has been developed for the rapid prototyping and low-cost production of coldplates and related hardware to answer a range of aerospace heat acquisition needs. The design and process permit practical development and fabrication of targeted heat acquisition hardware customized to specific applications for improved reliability. To demonstrate this technology, we have developed and tested two classes of products; a) avionics coldplates targeted to aerospace hardware backplane heat acquisition and b) low profile coldplates for application specific hardware integration with minimal volume impact. This paper discusses development, testing, and performance of these products.
