Examines Texas Supreme Court case, Stedman v. Georgetown Savings and Loan Association. Stedman focuses on the difference between a bona fide commitment fee and interest and how the two relate to usury laws. The author takes a close look at the current policy of exempting commitment fees from usury consideration.
