Abstract

Reviews Philip Shuchman’s book, Problems of Knowledge in Legal Scholarship. In his book, Shuchman bemoans the legal scholar who relies upon appellate decisions as fact, regardless of the objective reality external to the cold record before the court. In responding to this deficiency, the author recognizes the emergence of law review articles that more heavily rely on empirical evidence and hopes that more journals will follow suit.
