Abstract
Discusses the expansion of how state courts are granting more constitutional liberties to their citizens in response to recent United States Supreme Court decisions limiting these rights. The article is an overview of what Texas courts have done historically and currently which affect individual guarantees under the Texas Bill of Rights. The four critical areas include equal protection, due process, free speech and assembly, and criminal procedure. The article includes an appendix that compares the Texas Bill of Rights with the Federal Bill of Rights.
