Abstract

Discusses the history of the option and process of a Constitutional amendment as set out in Article V of the U.S. Constitution. The author focuses on Madison’s writings not only in the constitution itself but on the topic of veneration and amendments in The Federalist Papers. The article presents a history of how the text of Article V as we know it came to be through concerns and compromises of the drafters of the constitution.
