Sounds of a single-family house
Resumen
The purpose of this piece, “Sounds of a Single-Family House,” is to study how sounds change due to the varying reverberation times of different spaces. Different frequencies stimulate different impulse responses within the same space, changing how certain sounds are heard. This piece primarily uses sounds recorded from a two-story, single-family house with a basement as its musical materials. Some of these sounds went through further audio signal processes to make the music more interesting. Ultimately, the piece explores the musical possibilities that exist within the sounds of daily life, with an aim to extend or even redefine what music can be.
