Résumé
Examines recent developments in admiralty and maritime law, covering case law, statutes, and regulations. In addressing the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act ("LHWCA"),' the Article addresses both the workers' compensation and third-party negligence provisions of the Act. This Article emphasizes developments that have occurred during the past year. Because the Fifth Circuit contains numerous deep-water ports and because the Gulf of Mexico is the most active offshore drilling area in the United States, the courts within the Fifth Circuit consider an abundance of admiralty cases each year. Practitioners and courts can look to the Fifth Circuit opinions for guidance in admiralty cases.
