Abstract

Knowledge and experience that can be transferred from the secondary public school experience to the post secondary education setting is crucial. This study aspired to add to the body of knowledge regarding the leadership and direction of lab school partnerships and their impact on secondary school students. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between a small private university and a secondary school and examine how this unique setting was assisting the development and success of secondary public school students in their academic achievement, college readiness, and graduation rates. A non-comparative qualitative case study research design examined lab school culture and captured the partnership from the voices of students, parents, teachers, university professors, and stakeholders invested in this unique educational partnership. A variety of data sources, including existing documents, observations, and interviews provided for content analysis. The impact of this study offered further insights into the influence of school culture and the strength provided to students by the linking of parents, students, teachers, and universities.
