Abstract
Details several of the significant decisions written by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in the 1973-74 term. Especially concerning sections 10(b) and 14 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and rule 10b-5. Observes the expansion of the definition of securities since the 1933 and 1934 Acts and how the expansion is protecting the investing public more. Even though there were not a large number of cases, those that were decided were very important and helped define the court’s position.
