Criminal Law and Procedure

Surveys the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s criminal law and procedure decisions from September 1, 1976, through August 31, 1977. It includes those cases that the authors believed most significant. These cases were chosen because they either announced new law, clarified old law, or expressed the Fifth Circuit’s application of recent Supreme Court decisions. The survey includes various topics including the following: search and seizure, grand jury, guilty pleas, sentencing, and habeas corpus.
