Abstract
There is a lack of existing literature on transgender men’s romantic relationships, particularly from the viewpoint of trans men themselves. Existing literature also typically focused on deficits and reasons transgender men’s romantic relationships are unsuccessful. In response, the current project utilizes an intersectional feminist framework to explore trans men’s romantic relationships that have been maintained through gender transition. Survey data were collected, resulting in 119 participants, and then analyzed using multiple linear regression. Findings indicate that the current sample’s romantic relationships are of high quality and persisted after gender transition. Relational factors, rather than individual or structural factors, were the strongest predictors of relationship outcomes.
