Shift: Embrace the unfamiliar

A shift presents both a 'challenge' and an 'invitation'. a challenge to embrace whatever seems 'unfamiliar' and to re-evaluate whatever seems too 'familiar'. a shift is an invitation to create opportunities of change which seek a new paradigm. the idea is to create a new language of design by using society's past experiences and ideas to pioneer new ways of viewing itself. many cities around the world have used architecture to be the 'icon' of their identity, to be the pride of their achievements, and to set their society apart from the rest of the world.
