Abstract
Discusses the Fifth Circuit’s decisions in cases dealing with substantive issues of federal jurisdiction. The cases discussed fall into three categories: cases “arising under” federal law, removal, and cases based on a variety of doctrines. The author summarizes with the belief that the Fifth Circuit has done a creditable job of evaluating cases.
