Abstract
The following is an architectural program for low income housing for 500 families. The location will be in the Tondo area of Manila in the Philippines. The facility will replace the illegal and unsafe squatter's housing that is currently located there. The facility design will be an attempt to improve the lives of its occupants by providing not only for their basic survival needs, but also for their social needs. The facility design will also be an attempt to prove the architectural thesis: Architecture should provide for its user's social needs by regulating social interactions.
