Thesis Statement The educational theory of Whole Language proposes that all aspects of a child's development, intellectual, creative, and physical, and their relationship to the child's world, should all be addressed in the educational setting. This Child Development Center will not only assist in the development of the children's intellect but their physical, emotional, and creative development as well. With the idea of Whole Language treating the child as a whole not just an assemblage of parts. This center will attempt to create an environment which has a holistic character, to enable each child's development to be nurtured and complimented by a holistic environment. The Center will be situated in the newly developed Canyon Estates neighborhood in the town of Lake Ransom Canyon, which is located 6 miles east of Lubbock in the panhandle of West Texas. Project Scope The project will involve children from ages 3-6 in the Preoperational stage of Development as defined by Jean Piaget. There will be two individual sessions, morning (Sam -12pm) and afternoon (1pm-5pm). The facility will accommodate a maximum of 60 children in each session.
