Oct. 21st. 1864 My dear Louisa I can only send you a brief letter, but I wish to send a small subscription for those Italian objects advocated in your letter. — It is a comfort to be doing any thing for ____, however little, when she has done and is doing so much for herself. — I am rejoiced to find that you enjoyed some well earned holiday so entirely, and are now feeling the benefits of it. — I believe there is no other remedy at once so good and so attainable—whether for body or mind—as such a change—____ ____ accustomed.
