Abstract
The Forgotten Races is a programmatic work in eight movements for chamber orchestra consisting of the following: flute, oboe, Bb clarinet, bassoon, horn, two violins, viola, ‘cello, contrabass, and piano. The piece is based on an original fictional story by the composer. Appendix A is an abbreviated version, and the full text is included in Appendix B. In the story, a man (human for all practical purposes), in his search for answers about the seven other races which once inhabited his world, now believed lost to time, is taken through a series of visions through which his questions are answered in a most unusual manner.
