A study of attitudes toward the disabled using the ATDP and a semantic differential with a control for social desirability

The basic purpose of this study is to investigate attitudes toward disabled persons, A new technique for measuring these attitudes is to be introduced. In addition, consideration will be given to the social desirability response set as it affects the measurement of attitudes toward the handicapped. The study will be limited to a population differentiated on the basis of the amount of contact had with the disabled.
