Unit testing local variables

The last decade has led to interesting research and commercial developments in parameterized unit testing. What has lacked is closed method testing where local variables and their resulting values are testing. This paper explores testing of closed methods by changing the values of variables in these methods at runtime. By changing the values of local variables unexpected paths are exposed.
