Abstract
Homelessness is investigated as an interactive function of personality dispositions and environmental factors-Geographic and sociological factors constituting the ecological development of skid rows are examined in relation to the individual behaviors of persons living in these areas. Previous research on the poor and aged is used to formulate hypotheses regarding the concept of locus of control and homeless persons. Mobility is examined as a possible coping strategy used by homeless persons. The associations among perceived control, mobility, life satisfaction, are examined.
