The Fifth Circuit decided a multitude of federal tax cases during the survey period. An attempt has been made to analyze the more notable decisions in areas likely to be encountered by the tax practitioner. This Survey is divided into three major areas: (1) estate and gift taxation; (2) income taxation; and (3) procedure and administration.
