Abstract

The impact of parental incarceration on children is a multifaceted issue with profound implications for their well-being and future trajectories. Despite the challenges they face, students with incarcerated parents often lack adequate support systems to address their emotional, academic, and social needs. By acknowledging these challenges and providing tailored support, educators can play a pivotal role in mitigating the negative effects of parental incarceration on students. Through a combination of educational resources, mental health services, and community engagement, we can empower these students to overcome adversity and break the cycle of intergenerational involvement with the criminal justice system, fostering a more equitable and inclusive society for all.
