Connection to nature: An affordable housing facility for seasonal employees in Aspen, Colorado

Thesis Statement: Architecture which emphasizes a connection with nature will intensify mankind's awareness of both his environment and himself. Scope of Project: The creation of a housing facility for seasonal employees of the Aspen Ski Company and students of the Aspen Music School. This facility will provide thirty-six housing units to serve as an alternative to the lack of housing in such a beautiful resort community. Context Statement: The facility shall be located m Aspen, Colorado. Aspen IS considered to be one of the premiere ski resorts in the world, as well as the host to a number of cultural facilities and events. It serves as a second home t o a number of celebrities and the extremely wealthy, while still remaining a functioning community that reguires affordable housing for those who work and reside there.
