Abstract
In “Rights of Returning Servicemembers in Texas,” Richard D. Rosen discusses federal and state statutes that protect veterans from any adverse impacts their military service may have on their civilian lives. In addition, Dean Rosen advises lawyers representing these parties to familiarize themselves with the basic structure of these laws when dealing with employers, creditors, landlords, and adverse litigants. The article provides excerpts of statutes, explains how the statute should be applied, and also illustrates how and when certain benefits are due to qualifying servicemembers.
