Abstract

This study places importance on student's perceptions in order to quantitatively explore the effects of teaching assistant clothing on students' perceptions of homophily and on students' summative evaluations of teaching assistants. The purpose of this research is three-fold. First, it narrows the mass research on clothing to specifically teaching assistant fashion, an area not heavily researched. Second, it combines the varied research on clothing, homophily and student evaluations to determine the effect of clothing on perceptions of homophily and student evaluations. Third, the study will seek to determine if student gender has an effect on perceptions of homophily with a male teaching assistant.
