Establishing the acropolis: Two seasons of investigations in the Upper Plaza of Chan Chich, Belize

This thesis details two seasons of research that was conducted in the Upper Plaza at the Maya site of Chan Chich in 2012 and 2013. Open plaza spaces are a commonality among Maya sites that can yield significant amounts of reliable data on the construction history of sites through excavating the sealed contexts of plaza surfaces. This thesis details our findings.
