Abstract
Discusses lease terms that benefit the lessor which are made possible by the current economics in the field of oil and gas. The forms contained in this article and the notes that go along with them embody ideas and terminology formulated from many sessions of negotiations and many draftings of instruments, and it is these ideas, which will be of assistance to the lawyer representing the landowner with minerals to lease. In the end, the most important goal is to make sure that the lawyer is able to broker a successful deal and draft a lease that is mostly agreeable to all parties.
