Abstract

Tracks the changes to bankruptcy law, focusing on the proposed Bankruptcy Act of 1973. The proposed act is the first major overhaul since the Bankruptcy Act of 1898 and the amendments of the Chandler Act in 1938. One of the primary purposes is to separate judicial functions from administrative or ministerial function. The author urges those interested to study the changes and let their views be made know to the subcommittees of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees during their upcoming hearings on the bills.
