Abstract

Because of our toil with the here and now, we have become desensitized to time and place which inhibits the cognizance of our mundane existence. THESIS: The creation of architecture as a catalyst for human sentience. FACILITY: An aquarium facility will be used as the vehicle to express sentience. This aquarium facilit> is estimated to have 250,000 visitors per year. CONTEXT: Woods Hole, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts contains a multitude of overlapping contextual fields. Containing a significant built, cultural and psychological reference. Woods Hole exists as a place that demands response to these fields in order for an architecture to exist within the same reality.
