Abstract
In the design of packed towers, the knowledge of overall and individual heat and mass transfer coefficients is important. There has been a great deal of research on heat and mass transfer. Researchers have used different kind of packing materials, or water or chemical solutions to find relations for heat and mass transfer coefficients. However, no correlations have been found until now. In this study, an experiment with CELD (Cost Effective Liquid Desiccant Solution) has been performed to find a relation between air and liquid temperatures, and the Lewis Correlation is modified. Enthalpy-Potential Method has been used to obtain a correlation of heat and mass transfer coefficients for humidification and regeneration.
