This study explored the perceptions of resilience factors in women veterans by licensed counselors in order to understand what resilience factors can be reinforced to improve mental health outcomes. An intention for this research is to form a series of recommendations for improvement in mental care from consideration of entry and into counseling care. Five licensed counselors participated in semi structured interviews for this qualitative study. The study findings support the concerns over barriers to care for women veterans, and align with previous research that women veterans do not receive the same support as their male counterparts. This research provides insight to licensed counselors perceptions of resilience experiences over a cumulative 43 years of counseling experience.
