Abstract

Additive Manufacturing is an emerging technology whose applications have yet to be examined in the development of self-efficacy. The Engineering Skills Assessment is a tested index for the measurement of self-efficacy in the development of skills that are important in engineering. This article attempted to record the development of self-efficacy of a group of students in three different universities in the United States over the duration of an Additive Manufacturing course. Though no significant results were determined this research found evidence that self-efficacy may increase over the duration of an Additive Manufacturing course. This research expands the conversation about the uses of Additive Manufacturing, and the uses of the ESA as a trusted index for self-efficacy.
