Abstract
Historically, alcoholism has been shown to have numerous deleterious effects on neuropsychological functioning which include poor performance on measures of abstraction, memory and design reproduction. The concept of reversible brain damage has been suggested by the finding of reduction of impairment over time in recovering alcoholics. This study investigated the nature of the neuropsychological impairment in alcoholics and its pattern of recovery.
