Abstract

The Boeing CST-100 Starliner Humidity Control Subassembly uses Nafion bundle technology for humidity control. An array of Nafion bundles are assembled inside vacuum shells. To remove water from the spacecraft atmosphere, humid cabin air is drawn via a fan through the Nafion bundles. The outside of the bundles are exposed to the vacuum of space. The resulting water vapor partial pressure differential across the Nafion drives water removal from the cabin air. The Humidity Control Subassembly has completed qualification testing and is now in production. This paper will describe the qualification test campaign and summarize test results.
